So no clear 'facts' about party preference despite Ken claiming there was. "Facts" are based on " research". I make it clear I'm talking about the kind done by polls: a vote btw is just another kind of poll. Most reputable poll companies try and usually do come within a fairly narrow margin because those reputations are based on that: in the case of who voted for Brexit any margin of error makes little difference to the broad conclusion that the majority of Brexiteers were elderly Tories and UKIPers. Using poll evidence is as near to "fact" as you can get on the composition of any vote. On the other hand making up "facts" to suit yourself which seems to be your suggested alternative of choice isn't grounds for any debate or argument whatsoever. So you might prefer to just believe yourself Derek, but to me it's axiomatic that a single casual anecdote: "Derek thinks this..." means nothing in terms of evidence or understanding whats going in the country in general when compared to the actual research of: "five thousand people who have been polled think this..." - For obvious reasons I go with the later.
