Little Englanderism is not the culprit. I was really rather surprised at the extent of Liarbour's defeat in the north, even though I expected it I doubted that that many people would go through with it, having voted for such paragons of moral virtue a Callaghan and Bliar. No-one seems to have noticed that I hedged my bet somewhat by putting anticlimax above working class rebellion.
