You're right; we have no idea. My point is, I think that the way people voted had more to do with getting rid of two govts not because they hated one and were enamoured with the other. And of course there's racism, but that was consolidated, bolstered and pushes as the all pervading reasoning behind the brexit win, which as we've seen in this microcosm here has the effect of polarising perspectives that before weren't necessarily polarised.i feel the middle classes wished for it to be so, pushed the ideology, and some of that blowback makes the same directly accountable, same as with the Muslim hate campaign to push dirty wars. Minorities always end up suffering as a byproduct of the political classes political games. As for the polish there are a lot up this way in my small town. I haven't seen anything yet that is the kind of hate crime stuff you're describing down south, but the few I know have been being screwed consistently and massively since they arrived in the uk. Lower wages, longer hours, bad attitudes from employers. Their middle class bosses seem to be the greatest offenders in their oppression, and the lack of protection against such from a state level shows state (uk and eu) positions; the poor eastern states of the eu are simply, as ever, slave states, cannon fodder in the industrial realm. None have what you can call great lives under the umbrella of the eu, because the rich states are there to keep the poor ones willing to travel, and work hard for very little. It's all pretty shit. |
