A credit to Phil Dunmore for his excellent content in his posting.Firstly i would like to point out that i am a great believer in forte products,and when used appropriately to address a specific problem are of immense value.However to carry out these Forte supplement's during a service without customer consent is wrong and totally inapropriate.This is one of the largest gripes on our industry concerning garages carrying out unauthorized work,however small or insignificant.
I had an incident last year when i took my porsche into the dealer for a full service.When presented with the invoice i noted forte products had been used,which i refused to pay for as i had not requested them or even been offered the choice.
I argued the fact with the service manager that providing a very good quality oil is used in an engine,additives are not essential.But more to the point my rights as a customer had been contravened,with this my invoice was amended.
I am sorry, but i will not be convinced otherwise that this service action is no more than a means to unnecessary inflate a customers invoice.
