Except you're comparing apples to oranges on hung parliament vs clear majority in referendum and how long a vote remains valid is until the result is recognised. Imagine if labour won this election and Johnson just stayed put for 4 years and then called another election and in his defense said he was honouring democracy by eventually calling another election. Tories haven't honoured it yet, and it seems nor will labour if they can get away with it. That's a problem for democracy. |
