Come on Degsie! You know I mean endless angel/pin arguments; what Trevor Griffiths once memorably Archived Message

described, in 'The Party', through the mouth of his character John Tagg, as "the gonorrhoea of the left". Though as I remember I think he was referring to ego-engulfed leftie personalities rather than 'correct analysis' per se. But I assume that it's the jousting egos, rather than any realistic disagreements about actually-doable policy, that give rise to the infant-school stuff about 'my analysis is better than yours! So there!' So much of it is just toddler-aged ego wank, D. Absolutely nothing whatever to do with actually-feasible, realworld politics as they really function, grubby and disgusting compromises as they so often are. Just have another scroll through this thread - one of many such on the Lifeboat - to see what both Trev and I mean about 'gonorrhoea' and 'ego wank'. I'm not at all opposed to realistic discussion of actually doable strategies and policies. The key word, though, is 'realistic': What's the real character of the mess we're in; and what can we really hope to do about it? Once you surrender to those harsh objectivities, you come, glumly, to the realisation that the best the real-world has on offer today in Britain is a JC-lead government in Paedominster, and an independent Scotland. Perfect? Who said anything about perfect. Just bleedin' doable, that's all. In actual, objective reality rather than in the keyboard warrior's (rather comfortable) armchair dreamworld.
