On the referendum ballot we had either Remain or Leave. The Leave vote won. For the referendum to mean anything democratically, this has to be respected.
It was. Government proposals were put forward on the strength of the Referendum advice but failed to make it into law. We had a general election to clarify the issue and the Tories on their Brexit policy failed even to gain a majority from the electorate.

Hmm... As I've already pointed out numerous times on this board UK utilities like the railways are actually run by government owned companies: they just happen to be other European governments. Its the British that have a special abhorrence against state run enterprises and they who push that agenda in Europe.
