What politicians actually say: "once in a lifetime vote" or whatever is irrelevant . Indeed on that one your Brexit champion Farage didn't see it that way when he announced he intended to fight on for a second Referendum if Leave lost. -Its legislation that counts and the legislation wasn't binding for the reason above. You might not like that we don't have a direct democracy but a representative one in a sovereign parliament but that's just plain fact.
"... what they mean't was that it was not a once in a lifetime vote and if the vote went in the direction that the majority of Parliamentarians desired, said Vote would be ignored or rescinded as it was advisory only..."
-It not up to me to decide what they meant or desired. I'm merely pointing out some simple points about the UK system: another is that no legislation passed by a previous government is considered binding without change on its successor.
"...am I making it up and must have been on drugs during the entire, boring charade?"
Thats not for me to say either but I reckon you certainly have convinced yourself of a number of things that simply aren't true. As I recall you actually (mis)quoted to me that the Ashcroft poll stated:"...65% of Labour members/voters elected to Leave the EU" ...in August of this year; apparently believing this to be true until I put you right.
Even then your conviction that you were absolutely correct: that Labour voters were actually for Brexit, was such that you were quite unable to even see the direct evidence from the poll you had misquoted when put before your very eyes: which was that the near opposite was the truth of the matter and that 63% of Labour supporters had elected to stay.
Was it drugs or merely your own quite mistaken wishful thinking about the nature of Labour's supporters views on Brexit that made you believe for three whole years the opposite of the truth: even to ref it in discussion and not even be able to see you were totally wrong when it was actually placed before you?
-You tell me.
Considering this it's somewhat bizarre to hear someone so profoundly mired in a world of their own personal historical revision on such a fundamental matter and for so long to tell me that "As Historical Revisionists go" I'm one of the best..."
"Projection"- I do believe its called, but give yourself a pat on the back: as a "true believer" in your own spectacular revisions, that particular accolade belongs to you.
