Yes you are correct GM have cocked up the EGR problem

But looking at a press release today, GM are in trouble big time, taking up to ten years to acknowledge an ignition switch fault that has cost lives

GM are virtually broke, so taking then to court is a non starter. When Billions of Dollars are at stake I guess a software patch would suffice, they have a much bigger problem to tackle
