We've had an A3 dropped in this morning from a workshop who've tried to "fix" it's DPF issue.

Various parts and many hours labour have been spent culminating in a DPF off with complimentary remap.

Car keeps dropping into limp mode now, so the original software has allegedly been reinstalled (even though the brick is now absent).
Still the engine drops into limp when driven, but now (on it's original software, "honest guvnor") it doesn't log any DTC's at all.

Should I get involved?

It hacks me right off that the world is now full of cowboy remappers who can't or won't invest in the requirements needed to repair a vehicle properly.
These so called technicians seem to think it's clever to remove an ECU's DTC logging capability & various engine components to achieve a lazy 'fix'.

It's the next poor sod who has to work on it that ends up tied in knots.

Roll on technician licensing to chase these ten gallon hat tarts out of the trade.
