Chris Mason - Motor Ind Codes
Again thanks for taking the time.
My message and advice is simple. Things have to change, we have been told this by the Government - the only decision to make is how do you want your change?
Through the new code, where we retain the ability to create, shape and be a part of what it becomes.
Or
Ignore what we are being told, say we don't need it, and wait for the government to take away our ability to self regulate?
I reckon, those that are saying bring on the mandatory licensing regime now, will be the first to ask why we didn't do anything about this sooner if it becomes a reality.
Clearly this is an emotive subject and everyone has an opinion - i really welcome the debate, but at some point we have to take the required action.
This isn't about franchised, independent, need it, don't need it. It's about acknowledging that you can be a part of creating a lasting change - yes you've seen it all before, but this time it is the last time. That's why it is so important you sign up, you can then continue to have an opinion and an input into how it works - you won't get that if the Government decide to legislate for a mandatory licensing regime.
All the best
Chris
