Not very convincing Mr Mason.

Its a great idea, get 35,000 garages to part with £75.00 each and overnight you have a business turnover of £2.6M.

What concerns me is the Minister giving wholehearted support to an independant business with an unconvincing plan.

What Mr Gareth Thomas should be doing is to ensure that all people working on motors are properly qualified & regulated, and that not to maintain your vehicle in a proper manner is an offence. Any kerbside repairs would thus need to be checked & signed off by a properly qualified & regulated technician / garage.
