"Mason said the code’s grievance procedure has been in action since its launch.
Most consumer contact has been for advice, but around one in 11 calls has led to the conciliation phase. No members have yet been thrown out, but that is the code’s ultimate sanction – ejection done publicly."
I deal with a lot of other garages and traders, funnily enough, none of those seem to be in grievance with customers??, yes , we all get the odd one trying it on but this seems so weighted against the Trade, not customers trying it on so they don't have to pay the bill.
This quote gives the wrong opinion that all us independants are doing is ripping off the public, don't see dealers mentioned here with their practice of fit parts until fault cured at 2000 quid !, and giving Chris more money in his coffers for nowt, why would I pay this lot money for something I could sort with a bit of dialogue.Customers appreciate honesty and a fair price for a job done, this is getting harder in todays climate as everyone wants their car fixed for nowt, cars nowadays are hugely complex, I think Chris misses the point,I cannot see this scheme coming to fruition in the near future as all Brown is worried about is unemployment figures.
I remain a sceptic.
