"Consumers Code of Practice" - I like the idea of that. All this about garages ripping people off, what about people ripping off garages. Had a cheque returned unpaid, phoned customer and left messages. He eventually returned my call apologising, didn't understand why it was returned and saying he would be in with cash in the next two days - surprise he didn't turn up. The phone is now disconnected and when I visited his house it was vacant and up for sale. Agents advise it's been repossessed and have no forwarding address. He clearly set out to rip me off from the start. I wonder how one of these Motor Code Compliance Companies would deal with these problems. I run a good honest business and wouldn't dream of writing a cheque if I thought it would be returned. John
