On BBC this morning.....

"Everbody knows someone who has been ripped off by a garage" "independants are just lazy and need to get their acts together" "you are in the lap of the gods if when you take your car to a garage" " Independant garages rely too much on word of mouth, joining codes will bring you more business"

To listen to that lot makes you think that all garages are ripping everybody off what a load of old twaddle, I hope Chis watched that and insists on putting the record straight.

In my experience Most independants are trying to do a good job for a fair price, We all want to see the cowboys and conmen eliminated from the trade AND we want the public educating about the fact that it is often their insistance on a cheap job that drives down quality. It is their ignorance that leads to misunderstandings and complaints of poor or unnecessary work.

Infact come to think of it Chris, how about a "consumers code of practice" hmmmmmm, now theres a good Idea.
